How to Install the Simple Arch Hanging Basket Bracket on Wood

Running out of space in your garden? Even with extra long window boxes on every available perch, it’s easy to run out of container space. Adding more aerial containers is a fantastic way to maximize space while adding depth and interest to your garden, patio, porch, or balcony!

Extra big hanging baskets are a dreamy solution to the limitations of small space gardening, but they get heavy fast! Once filled with soil, plants, and water, every inch of planting space is adding lots of pressure. It’s important that you hang your baskets on the right bracket to keep them from falling.

Our Simple Arch Hanging Bracket is perfect for carrying the weight of large hanging baskets. It’s beautifully crafted out of steel, and powder-coated black for rust resistance. Thankfully, it’s also incredibly easy to install. Watch this short video to learn how to install this bracket on wood!

To install your bracket on wood, you will need:
The Simple Arch Hanging Bracket
A second person to hold the bracket in place while you install it
Four 5/16th inch Lag Bolts, at least 2 inches long
A socket wrench or power rachet

You can optionally drill holes in the wood before installing, as this may make it easier to drill in the bolts (especially if you are using a manual socket wrench). However, if you do this, be absolutely sure that the holes you are drilling are significantly smaller than the bolts! If you make the holes too big, there won’t be enough wood left for the bolts to latch onto when they are drilled in.

After this, you can simply install the bolts. Make sure you keep the bolts straight to prevent the bracket from getting crooked. Slow down occasionally to check that the bolts are still straight.

And that’s it! You now have a lovely, durable bracket that can withstand the weight of a large hanging basket. Happy planting!
